I have always stated that Wedding Photography in particular is 90% Psychology and 10% actual Photography itself.
Let me explain why, Most couples already have preconceived ideas of what they want their wedding photographs to look like and how they want the day to pan out, its our job as wedding Photographer to explain to the couple how we capture photographs our shooting style e.g Portrait photography or candid photojournalist approach. What to expect and what not to expect.
Every wedding is unique in itself so its very important to explain to brides.
At Photography By Abi we are Story telling wedding photographers, we are silent observers trying to capture the essence of the wedding day we pay attention to the wedding day details bridal dress, shoes, table layout and decorations etc.
We do take a few posed shots on request from the bridal and groom but its not really own style of photography. We aren't Traditional Posed wedding Photographers.
For example the photograph of the rings is a typical candid shot telling the viewer that this is the moment when the rings were presented, this is a shot you can expect from a Photojournalist photographer. whilst a traditional photographer is more posed and wouldn't necessary take a photography like this.
Its absolutely necessary that Couples, brides etc need to ask themselves the question? what kind of photographer do I need for my wedding?
